The Death of Steve Irwin

Out on facebook, I noticed someone in my friends list joined a group called "Steve Irwin's memorial." I was reading some of the comments by people when I noticed these two:

"Awesome guy worthy of memory, he dared to go closer to animals than ever before. He died doing what he loved. In the end, that's all we can ever ask for. Be at peace."

"R.I.P steve u had more guts than most people."

I have no idea where Steve Irwin was with the Lord, but I know I was shamed by his display of courage. "He dared to go closer to animals than ever before." Do I dare to get close with people who do not know Jesus Christ? "He died doing what he loved." I love sharing Christ...why do I not do it all the time, and therefore really rob myself from glorifying God? "Steve, you had more guts than most people." Steve Irwin had more guts approaching animals and trying to help them than I have in risking myself getting closer to unbelievers. God, fix my busted heart.

The first quote can be applied to Jesus Christ. What an exemplary life indeed. The most exemplary.
